Teaching in Thailand

Teaching enables a foreign instructor a rare glimpse of the cultural nuances easily missed by tourists. Learn about traditions, festivals, important historical events and a different way of life and thinking that cannot be accurately explained in written or visual media. Open your mind and heart to another culture while helping a lesser developed nation build infrastructure in giving the next generation the skills necessary to complete in an increasingly globalized world.

Although teaching experience is not required, taking a TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA course with classroom experience will help you build the confidence and knowledge base necessary for novice experience in the classroom. Combined with your undergraduate or graduate studies and our ongoing training and support, becoming a successful and effective educator is within reach.

In order to meet the Thai Ministry of Education's requirements, all teachers must submit a dossier of documents including:

A Bachelor’s Degree (original) and transcripts (original) or a letter or email of confirmation of graduation from your university.
Passport (original)
A Teaching Qualification (this is unnecessary if the degree is in education) (original) You may obtain a TESOL, TEFL or CELTA certificate in Bangkok, the country of your residence or online.
1 X Medical Certificate (less than one month old). This can be obtained for less than THB 200 from any Doctor’s or hospital.
Photos (you can purchase these near our office for a nominal fee)
12 X matte photos 4x6 cm
12 X matte photos 5x6 cm
Criminal Record Check from your local residence as well as from Thai police.

We have three programs with various openings, ranging from kindergarten to high school, for teachers to deliver US or UK based curricula for students studying language arts, math, science, ICT, and English as a Second Language.
We are an educational organization which provides primary and secondary academic programs to private and government schools in the Bangkok area, Hua Hin and the Phang-Na province of Thailand.

BFITS is accepting applications for the 2008 -2009 school year, which commences in May. Recent graduates who are serious about a professional commitment must be able to relocate to Bangkok by April 25th, 2008. We provide airport pick up, assistance in finding accommodation, and full professional and social support for our new hires to transition to living in the City of Angels.
